A while back when all of us lived simpler lives! Ha! The upright locations for storing euro rigged boats was a snap. However, many years ago Bill Titus, a pioneer at Pocock had a great idea when he developed the wing rigger. Since then, many, if not all boat manufacturers now offer wing riggers. However the variables now include each boat manufacturer has their own style of wing rigger and all have various ways they attach to the gunwales, which basically eliminates the old commonality that the euro rigged boats pretty much all shared. Now it’s nearly impossible to store euro rigged boats with wing rigger boats along with different manufactured wing rigged boats on the same stack of racks without having some sort of rigger to rack arm conflict - Until now! None of the above matters anymore if you have our NEW Focus Side-Shift Racks! It doesn't even matter if a boat is port rigged, starboard rigged, bucket rigged, stern mounted or bow mounted, you’ll now have a quick and easy adjustment to store any configuration - Pretty cool!

The first program to get our NEW Focus Side-Shift Racks was at the Harvard Weld Boathouse. Since then, other installations include the Brooks School, Ohio State University, Harvard Newell Boathouse, Green Lake Crew and Army West Point Academy. The Yale Univ. Boathouse racks have been delivered and will be outfitting their entire boathouse with our NEW Focus Side-Shift Racks soon.

The only tools needed to shift an arm (with built-in roller assemblies) to the left or to the right, are two 9/16" wrenches. Simply loosen (4) bolts with two 9/16" wrenches and slide the arm to its desired location and then tighten the same (4) bolts - Problem Solved!

No. The NEW Focus Side-Shift Racks are built in sections to provide the user with finite left-to-right adjustment of an arm so the arm can be shifted to not conflict with a rigger. These sections are independent from any other uprights.

Absolutely! We build sweep oar racks, many different styles of sculling blade racks, single-sided and double-sided mobile racks (with our new adjustable centers) for smaller boats as well as wall mounted sling racks, rolling sling racks, rolling slings with a "flip top" workbench, euro rigger racks, sculling wing rigger racks, sweep wing rigger racks. You name it - we’ve built it!
Keep in mind that pretty much everything we build is custom, so if there is something that you would like to have built for your boathouse, just let us know what that is and we can build it for you!

Through either phone conversations or emails, we’ll get a good understanding of your scope and then provide a quote for this scope. If the quote gets approved, the customer will make a deposit payment reflecting their commitment. Prior to the scheduled delivery date, a Focus representative will schedule a site visit to take pertinent measurements, perform a layout to establish comfortable ingress/egress (achieving ideal boathouse functionality), and will provide options to the Head Coach regarding potential locations, types and styles of each type of rack in an effort to provide optimum clearances and function. Over the years, we've found it's best for the coaches to make their final decisions regarding oar racks especially, when we do our site visit. For example, if a new boathouse is being built, the only thing a coach has to look at are the drawings of their new boathouse provided by their architect. These drawings include the different boat type locations, oar rack locations, etc., but we’ve found that most coaches get a much better perspective when they're able to actually stand in their new boathouse and can see the boat layout etc.. At this point they gain a much better sense of space so they’re more able to make confident decisions on what they feel would be the best fit regarding the size, type, style and location of each shell rack and oar rack to arrive at the best solution regarding form, fit and function.
